Last updated: November 15, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how bingweeklyquiz.net (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Site”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit, use, or interact with the Site.

Who we are

Website: https://bingweeklyquiz.net/

Contact: info@bingweeklyquiz.net

Role: For purposes of global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR/CPRA), we are the data controller for information we collect through the Site.

Unofficial status

We are an unofficial companion site for users who enjoy the Bing Homepage Quiz, Bing News Quiz, Bing Entertainment Quiz, and other Bing-style trivia content. We are not affiliated with Microsoft or Bing, and we do not publish Microsoft’s official quiz answers.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Emails you send to us (e.g., support questions, feedback).

  • Optional form entries (e.g., contact or feedback forms), if enabled on the Site.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs: IP address, user-agent, date/time, pages visited, referrer URL, and basic error/diagnostic data.

  • Cookies and similar technologies: Used for essential site functions (e.g., remembering basic preferences, quiz behavior) and, if enabled, analytics and/or advertising.

  • Analytics data (if enabled): Aggregated usage metrics (e.g., page views, time on page, device types). We do not use analytics to personally identify you.

Quiz interactions

  • Non-identifying details about quiz usage (e.g., quiz categories played, completion time, scores, approximate difficulty level) to help us improve quiz quality and user experience.

  • We do not publish public leaderboards that contain personally identifying information.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of data (e.g., health, political opinions, religious beliefs). Please do not send such information to us.

How we use your information

We process data to:

  • Operate, secure, and maintain the Site (including fraud prevention, debugging, performance, and load balancing).

  • Provide and improve content (e.g., daily quizzes, explanations, fun facts, and related articles).

  • Understand aggregate usage and improve the Site (via high-level analytics and performance metrics).

  • Communicate with you when you contact us (e.g., responding to support or feedback).

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK/Switzerland)

Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interests: Site security, basic analytics, improving our services, preventing abuse.

  • Consent: Non-essential cookies, analytics, and advertising where required by law.

  • Contract: Responding to direct requests from you (e.g., when you contact us).

  • Legal obligation: Compliance with applicable laws and lawful requests from authorities.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to support the Site:

  • Essential cookies: Required for core functionality (e.g., basic quiz operation, basic security features). These cannot usually be switched off via standard cookie tools.

  • Performance/analytics cookies (optional): Help us understand how users interact with the Site in aggregate so we can improve content and performance.

  • Advertising cookies (optional): If we enable ads, these may be used by us and/or ad partners to deliver and measure advertising in accordance with your consent and local laws.

You can manage cookies via your browser settings (e.g., blocking, deleting cookies). If we deploy a cookie/consent banner, you may also adjust or withdraw your preferences there at any time. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site functions.

Analytics and third parties

If enabled, we may use privacy-respecting analytics or commonly used analytics tools. These providers may set their own cookies or receive limited data (such as truncated IP address, browser type, and approximate location) to generate aggregate reports about Site usage. We do not use analytics to identify you personally.

If we enable advertising (e.g., programmatic ad partners or ad networks), those partners may use cookies or device identifiers to:

  • Deliver ads,

  • Measure ad performance, and

  • Help prevent fraud and abuse,

in accordance with their own privacy policies and your consent settings (where required by law).

We do not sell personal information.

Data sharing

We share information only with:

  • Service providers / processors: Such as hosting providers, CDNs, security tools, analytics services, and (if applicable) advertising partners, under contracts requiring them to protect your information and use it only for specified purposes.

  • Legal and safety: When required by law, to respond to lawful requests (e.g., court orders, regulators), or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

  • Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy that provides equal or stronger protection.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Data retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law:

  • Server logs: Kept for up to 90 days, unless a longer retention period is needed for security or abuse investigations.

  • Contact emails/forms: Kept for up to 24 months after our last communication with you.

  • Analytics/measurement data: Kept for up to 26 months in aggregate form (or provider defaults).

We may retain information longer where required by law or to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it where feasible.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to help protect your information (e.g., HTTPS encryption, access controls, monitoring). However, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or a higher age threshold where local law applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, please contact info@bingweeklyquiz.net and we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.

International transfers

We may store and process information on servers located outside your country of residence. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms) to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.

Your rights

Your rights depend on where you live and applicable law. Subject to legal exemptions, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Delete/erase your information in certain circumstances.

  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing (including some profiling).

  • Receive your information in a portable, structured, commonly used format.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

  • Appeal a decision where applicable.

To exercise your rights, email info@bingweeklyquiz.net. We may need to request additional information to verify your identity. We will respond within the timeframes set by applicable law.

If you are a California resident, you may also have the right to:

  • Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

  • Request correction or deletion of personal information, subject to certain exceptions.

  • Receive information about our “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (if applicable).

  • Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as defined by CPRA.

To make a request, contact info@bingweeklyquiz.net.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

EEA/UK/Switzerland (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We encourage you to contact us first at info@bingweeklyquiz.net so we can try to resolve your concerns directly.

Philippines (Data Privacy Act of 2012)

If you are in the Philippines, you may exercise rights to be informed, object, access, rectify, erase/block, and data portability. You may also file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. To make a request, contact us at info@bingweeklyquiz.net.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. Because there is currently no industry-standard way to interpret DNT signals, our Site does not respond specifically to them. You can manage tracking primarily via your browser settings and any consent tools we provide.

Third-party links

Our content may include links to external sites (including Microsoft/Bing or other quiz and news providers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites. Please review their privacy policies when you visit those sites.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes may be highlighted on this page or elsewhere on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
